Describing Brandy Lindsey and the Punch's music, 'The Knoxville News Sentinel' explains, 'It's like being in a honky-tonk or a greasy rock club that isn't embarrassed to serve good wine along with Pabst Blue Ribbon.' This new recording on Circle X Records lives up to that description. The band's CD entitled, 'the likes of you,' opens wounds, breaks your heart, tells you off and then, without warning seems to find peace. Occasionally, the melodic guitars and organ make way for pedal steel or piano, but overall the record is pop driven with a hint of the country in it. After all, the band hails from South Carolina. In an attempt to capture the sound of music before the digital age, the CD was recorded all analog at County Line Sound Studio and co-produced by Matthew Knights (who is heck of a musician and songwriter in his own right). The old-school homage continued during the mixing phase in Hendersonville, TN, home to some of Country Music's greats. The result of all of the above is a 13-song album of honest performances that don't wear out their welcome. Band: Brandy Lindsey-vocal, acoustic guitar, percussion Eric Lindsey-bass Jamison Smith-electric guitar, vocal Scott Stinson-drums, percussion Special Guests: Matthew Knights-acoustic guitar, electric guitar Wilson Warren-organ, piano, pedal steel.
