"We Still Have Fears Inside Ourselves" is an album about hope, disappointment, disillusionment, and, most of all, fear. The album could be thought of conceptually as "a day in the life" - beginning with Dawn and ending with Farewell - or a life in a day - with the hope of adolescence expressed in Atlantic, followed by the jaded undertones of Delicate and Up, the childhood reminiscences of Sycamore, and the presentation of a life-changing Conflict, which is resolved (Resolution) only when it is fully realized and accepted. Ghosts of the Kodiak's first full-length production is a bit personal and a bit existential. Mostly, it tells us that we're all ghosts, and we all - still - have fears residing in us, fears that must be dealt with, and can only be dealt with when they have been fully acknowledged.
